Hello, I have to test the water- splitting by the Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and Oxygen evolution reaction via the Gamry IFC1000-0745 software. Could you please help me how can I do the setup for that measurement.
Thank you Dr. Yurii V Geletii for your answer. Actually, this is my learning phase and I only know we can measure the HER and OER by the linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) in a three electrode system.
From my understanding, we can do this test to know the ability to produce pure hydrogen gas as well as we can use this instead of cyclic voltammetry when the electron transfer is followed by a fast irreversible reaction.
One more thing, can we use 25 ml solution with 1 M KOH flakes as the electrolyte or I have to use the 50-ml solution with 0.5 M H2SO4.
"I only know we can measure the HER and OER by the linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) in a three electrode system." Electrochemical tests do not provide any evidence of O2 or H2 formation. "can we use 25 ml solution with 1 M KOH flakes as the electrolyte or I have to use the 50-ml solution with 0.5 M H2SO4." This question shows that you need a good supervisor in your work.
