To calculate the cost of the optical resource, the optical resource must be formulated by including several parameters such as the wavelength bandwidth, the fiber delay line and the wavelength conversion capability. The problem here how to build the relationship between the core network switch capacity, especially the core nodes which belong to the established optical path in terms of fiber delay line and wavelength conversion?
The computing process of the of the resource utilization over optical label-switched can introduce another parameter which improves the optimization of the use of available resource. This parameter is the wavelength capability implemented in each core node of the physical design. In this case the cost depends on three parameters related to the physical topology design including wavelength bandwidth, fiber delay line capacity and wavelength capability.
