Tim Marler and Dean Young former doctoral students are of the opinion that the path “to obtaining a doctoral degree efficiently is not obvious, and the guidelines in this regard can be elusive, unspoken and often unrealized”. Do you agree?
It is always better to comply with the guideline provided by the Institution and University about PhD submission. So there would be less chance of rejection and modification of thesis. Best Luck
To obtain a doctoral degree efficiently one must follow the guidelines. But that's not enough. Sticking to guidelines alone does not necessarily mean producing quality work. You have to go further. You have to study, investigate, discover, analyze, synthesize, propose ...
Doing a doctorate means becoming proficient at research, at academic writing and getting sufficient time and attention from your supervisor. Learning means making mistakes, and you learn more from a mistake than from doing it the right way but accidentally. AFTER the PhD one knows what could have been done more efficiently, not before. Doing a phd is more than producing a manuscript.
if everyone wanted to do “efficient” phds, they would only do verification research, copy someone else with a minimal variation in the design. It is the journey that counts, not the city at the end.
First of all, Ph.D. is never completed quickly, so no answer on How. if anyone follows the guidelines and does real research and innovation in the chosen field, he/she will find short of time even after spending 2-3 years in it. Keep enjoying your research work, when you feel satisfied, your guide is feeling satisfied. you will be awarded a Ph.D.
Complete my Ph.D. quickly depends on your problem and your speed of doing work. If you are working on some instruments, the generation of the data becomes easy and quickly. If facilities are available in your parent institution them it becomes easy to complete Ph.D. readily.
