Hi, I am a Masters student and I am going to start working on a new study of faunal road mortality. In this study, I wanted to incorporate the environmental parameters to see if they influence faunal mortality rate. By environmental parameters I mean to say ambient temperature, humidity and/or relative humidity (what is better for my purpose and why?) and precipitation only. My question is, how to properly and correctly collect these? In some papers I have found that these data were taken from nearest weather station (in my case it is appx 170 km away) so I was thinking maybe I can do that as well? If not, then what are the prescribed methods and equipment? Also, if I am doing my sampling in early morning, then what should be the collection time of the environmental data I have just mentioned, considering the fact that carcasses I am likely to encounter in the morning, would have been killed the night before?

thanks and regards,

Prajjwal Ray.
