As far as I know in APA we write the full reference again even if we are citing it consecutively. But I do not have any reference for that. However, my examiner has asked to check how to cite the same citation if appears twice consecutively in APA format? Can someone help? The answer with reference to APA edition will be appreciated. Thank you
It depends on the number of authors: 2 authors are cited in full every time. 3, 4 or 5 authors are cited in full the first time and then abbreviated to 1st author, et al. for subsequent citations, unless it leads to ambiguity (according to APA 6th, see https://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2011/11/the-proper-use-of-et-al-in-apa-style.html).
