Hi,
I am using Cary 60 UV Vis, and at the setup in the instrument, it has option to use single or double beam mode.
May I know which one is better? And how to operate for each beam mode? For example, if I chose single beam mode, is it I need to run blank , then take out to run my sample? ( my UV-VIS has only one compartment for cuvette). How about double beam? is it double beam mode we should have compartment that can insert two cuvettes (1 blank, 1 sample) to run simultaneously?
Anybody can help me?

Single beam is used for quantitative analysis, while double beam is used for qualitative analysis. Both need blank to eliminate absorption of solvents and other materials (except the analyte).
