Since you are planning a standalone system for the building, opt out Geo thermal, hydro etc..
If the location of the building is in the region with reasonable wind/solar intensity, then you can choose either small wind turbine and/or PV.
To make a good renewable system go with the hybrid system of two or more renewables like solar, wind, biomass etc.. which will fulfill all the conditions of power generation.
do a simple economic analysis with the data of the modules u wanna install and there you go:) But PV,solar thermal would be the most efficient systems and it would be the cost effective one:)
Thanks Vadim, what I'm looking for is a comparison, not for myself but ad diagram we can use to advise people who are lost in this area, so far I'm gathering people's view point and will compile something.
Not at all. I have seen such diagrams, unfortunately I can’t remember where. Take a look at these links. Where are some tables and figures you can use.
Hi Amar, There are several software tools that can decide for you based on your energy consumtion in the building. The simplest one is HOMER which offeres variety of PV, Wind turbine, Diesel, and fuel cells plus some more expensive geothermal etc. This is very easy to use and it can estimate costs and return of initial budget. If you need more help I am happy to provide.
Thanks every one, I'll post a poster I'm presenting today at all energy conference so you can comment on it. It's designed to help people to choose the right system.
