I have modelled a steel building according to example 5 given in opensees in which I have provided cross bracing on each storey and I am two applying earthquake force one having scaling factor of 0.1 and one having scaling factor of 1. after performing the analysis the difference in their displacement is coming out very less which should not be in real because the difference of magnitude of earthquake is very high. So how to check were the mistake has been made. If I am removing the bracings from ground floor or from middle floor, I am getting correct values.
Al Mouayed Bellah Nafeh thank you for your response. The main purpose for this is to model a regular and irregular building. For regular building, I am providing bracings in all floors which depicts that stiffness is constant in each floor and for irregular building I am removing bracings only from ground floor. For irregular building I am getting proper results. So in regular building model is it just because of bracing in each floor due to which I am getting less displacement between two earthquakes or could there be some other reason also?
