Dear all,
I would like some advice on how to check the texture on laser processed glass since its transparent.
Ive tried to check using optical microscope but unfortunately, the view just pass through the glass and only visualized the optical microscope table.
Since this the trial phase, i would like to consider using noncomplex equipment.

Hi Abdul Fattah, how about shining a beam of light in the perpendicular direction? In theory, light hitting the engravings should scatter in different directions, hence make it visible. Sometimes different lighting colors can help because of the different scattering based on wavelength. You may also use lasers, but I wouldn't look into the eyepiece with naked eye then 😃

Abdul Fattah Mohamad Tahir, there exist very simple, but informative way how to understand what kind of the structure you have on your treated glass sample. You should direct laser beam with wavelength lambda along normal to the glass surface, and see the scattered light distribution on the screen, placed either in transmitted, either in reflected direction. Peaks in such distributions will be related to the presence of periodical components of your glass structure. Periods, pitches d and azimuth orientation of such components can be estimated from angles of scattering theta: d = lambda/sin(theta). Smooth angular distribution of scattered light will characterize level of stochastic, non-periodical structure of your sample.
If you will direct incident light non-normally to your sample surface, range of d will be extended till lambda/2 limit.
So by such simple experiment you will have rather complete presentation of your sample structure.
Hi, Valerochka! May be Bruster Angle Microscopy may be useful? I remember such way was used for investigation of very thin films oh the water surface. You may search this old works around 80-th last century. It need at least 2 polarizers, but allow to distinguish nanometers uneven surface.
Yuri M. Shirshov, If I understand right, structure in question is micrometer range sizes in both directions, along and normally to the surface. It produce well visible scattering distribution. Analysis of such distribution can give rich information about components of the structure, presence of periodical or quasi-periodical components, their periods and azimuth orientation. For such structure Brewster angle microscopy is too sensitive tool.
