I have isolated secondary metabolites from a marine fungus, and did total phenolic content assay. Where from the calibration curve I got the unknown as say 50 ug/ml GAE/ml. So how can I convert into ug/g DW for my extracts as most of the good journals presents their results like that.
You need to know the dry weight of the sample you extracted the phenolic molecules from. If the measured concentration of 50 ug/ml represents the whole sample, just multiply this value by the volume of solvent you have and divide by the dry weight.
Mr Kushweer, if I am not wrong you have determined let me say 50 ug GAE/ml of your solution, so you have to see how many grams of crude extract you dissolved /ml of sample solution let say this was 5 mg
so 50ug/5mg * (total yield of crude extract/amount of dry powder)= ug/mg GAE/g of DW
