I made a nanocomposite film of TiO2/PVA and deposited by dip coating and spin coating method on the glass substrate. I would like to know how to calculate the film thickness without any major instruments?
If you are suggesting beer lamberts formula, but this requires the film density. So, how do I calculate the density of the already composited film with two materials of different density?

(ideally) you should try using cross-section SEM, AFM, or profilometer. If you use the Lambert-Beer app. to estimate your film thickness, the density of your composite can be simply estimated as the density (rho) of a mixture = mass of mixture/volume of mixture = (mA+mB)/V = (rhoA*VA + rhoB*Vb)/V
step profiler may be right approach. at some corner of the substrate glue some thing which can be removed after deposition. When you go for the measurement, remove that strip which will create a step, thickness profile can measure the height of step.

you can measure the transmittance spectra of the thin films. if the interference fringes are observed, you are allowed to use the Swanepoel method to estimate the thickness and many other optical parameters of your samoples.
