I am doing a study on the power performance of a hybrid wind turbine and I need to calculate the swept ares and the tip speed ratio.
TSR = w*r\v,
w: is the rotor rotational speed in rad/s
r: is the rotor radius in m.
v: wind speed in m/s.
Also the swept area mostly = 2R*L
R: rotor radius
L: height of the turbine
So, in the combined or the hybrid case what radius should be taken, I have the savonius radius, the H-blades radius or should be there a method to calculate another radius.

The swept area of the turbine = Pi x r^2
Where r is the radius of the blade.
Pi = 3.14159
The tip speed ratio (TSR) = Pi x (2r) x rpm / 60v
where v = upwind undisturbed wind speed (m/s)
rpm = rotor speed, (revolutions/min)

As far as I know you don't need the total area and you have to use an individual area for each type.
so for H-blade the swept area Ah= Pi * Hh * Dh
where Hh is the height of the H-blade
Dh is the diamter of the H-blade
and for savonius-blade the swept area As = Hs *Ds
where Hs is the height of the S-blade
Ds is the diamter of the S-blade
Then you can calculate the Power for each blade using its swept area.
Ph = f(Ah)
Ps = f(As)
and may be due to structural limitations, the maximum tip speedratio of S-blade might be less than the maximum tip speed ration of the H-blade. So finally you will have to calculate the power according to the tip-speed ratio range as:
Ptotal = Ps+Ph if not exceed the S-blade tip speed ratio
Ptotal = Ph if the tip-speed ration of the S-blade already exceeded
