Recently, i try to calculate the species geographical range size by uisng species corrdinates. I already know how make the minimum convex polygons for each species, but i have no idea on how to calculate the area (km2 ). Is there someone know how to do that work?

Hi, if I understand well your goal is to compute the area of a polygon. To do that you can use the MATALB function "polyarea".

Anyone had a look at the R package(s) in the adehabitat suite?
That's the standard tool to deal with home ranges.
Also note that MCP is a rather deprecated technique, both at the individual (home iange) and at the species (distribution) level.
