I would like to calculate the self-inductance of a multilayer turn coil in Matlab.
The first picture shows the equation for a single layer which is no problem. However, I struggle with the combination of both equations, and if I understand it right, I don't need the second part of the second equation because of i=j where Na= number of layers, Nt=number of turns, a=loop radius and R=wire radius.

First term is the summation is self inductances of individual turn and the second term is mutual inductances between the turns. (i=j condition applies when same turn appears in mutual inductance calculations which you should skip) I have used this equation to estimate self inductance of circular spiral coils, and calculated values are comparable to measured values.

unfortunately, your first equation is incorrect. This equation should be used only for a single loop, not for a layer, you should exclude N^2-term.
Also, you should calculate second term in the second equation in order to obtain the proper value of a self-inductance for a multilayer coil. The second term in this equation is a term which describes mutual inductance between a pair of loops.
