How to calculate the hydrolysis ratio in polyol process?

I am trying to synthesize cobalt ferrite via polyol process. Many authors have reported the role of hydrolysis ratio (water/metal molar ratio) in size and other crucial properties of the cobalt ferrite. But I am unable to understand how to calculate the hydrolysis ratio?

Any insights on these is appreciated.
