How to calculate the elastic constant C11 from the stress strain curve. I am fitting the stress-strain energy relation to a parabola. It is like U(s) = 90 (s)^2, where s is the applied strain. Now how can i get my c11 lattice constant
We'd need to know what type of stress-strain curve you have. If it is simple tension then the current slope, or tangent modulus as Martin Baeker points out, is just the change in stress divided by the change in strain. Are you fitting a hypoelastic material to this? Or some other type of strain interpolation to determine the current stiffness? If possible, tell us the data you have and what you plan to do with this.
