We are working on a project on gait analysis.

Therefore we use a zebris plate which gives us digital footprints.

In the end we want to calculate the Chippaux-Smirak Index (CSI), which is the ratio between the smallest width of the mid-foot and the largest width of the metatarsal head area.

I'm searching for an elegant way to calculate the CSI out of these digital footprints for a high amount of people. We want to avoid manual measurements.

Is there any existing programm or code (e.g in matlab) which can calculate these distances out of the data?
