working on the effect of various culture mediums on invitro rooting, I wanna calculate rooting speed, is there any distinct formula in this regard?
There would be two ways to measure the "speed" of rooting: (1) the number of formed roots and (2) the growing of formed roots. If you're using gelled media, you just need to count the number of roots formed every day or measuring the diary growth of roots formed. Hope it help you.

The fact is, I counted newly_formed roots, but I do not now how to calculate the speed...
If you have a dinamic of growing, then is easy to express this growing in function of time, e.g. 3mm/day or 2 roots/day
you now, I counted newly-formed roots...for instance... 1th root formed after 5 days, the 2th formed after 7 day and so on......
it's a bit complicated to calculate.....

Probably, however it's the most accurate way. Other possibility is count the number of roots at the end of the assessment period and divide the whole number of roots by the total number of rooting days (taking as the day 1 the first day in which you see the first root) in this way you can also express the rooting speed.
