The process flow diagram is as follows.
100kg/h of COAL fed into decompose reactor with composition moisture=3.3wt%, volatile matter = 37wt%, fixed carbon = 54.5 wt%, and ash = 5.5wt% (as per proximity analysis); Carbon = 80.7wt%, H=5.5wt%, N= 1.7wt%, S= 0.6wt%, O=11.5wt% (ultimate analysis), the lower heating value of coal is given as 29.1MJ/kg. Coal is decomposed in a decomposition reactor and fed to a gasifier along with steam (flow rate 140kg/h)..
The reaction in the decomposition reactor is coal decomposes to volatile matter and char.
In the gasification reactor, volatile matter and char reacts to produce CO, H2, CO2, H2O and ash. This ash is separated and remaining gas composition is carbon monoxide (34.5 mole%), hydrogen (50.3 mole%), carbon dioxide (2.4mole%) , water (12.3 mole%).
I would like to know the flow rate of this ash free gas. In the above drawing it is shown as "SYNGAS".
Could you please help me in calculating the mass flow rate of SYNGAS stream flow rate?
