I have problem with formula of plateau limit. Because in worst case scenario if the original histogram is 0, then the modified histogram value will be 0.4805. So none of the values will be equal to 0. How can i calculate the plateau limit?
Limit or convergence of such problems can be found iteratively by some initial guesses.
According to your reference, plateau limit is used to clip the histogram. It is defined as mean of the modified histogram bins (only non empty bins).
After that on clipping step, each bin, which value is greater than plateau value, is set equal to plateau value, otherwise - maintain as is.
My suggestion, that there is no sense to provide histogram clipping in case of all bins is equal to zero ( "worst case scenario if the original histogram is 0" ). Just put condition on this , and remain histogram as 0.
