Hi, I am wanting to work out which electrodes are within 4cm of each electrode on a 128 channel montage using the information in the EEGLAB EEG.chanlocs file. Is there a function set up to do this, or will it require slightly more computation on my part?

I'm not totally sure about how it might be done within EEGLAB. But in Fieldtrip, when you prepare a neighbour structure for doing a spatiotemporal clustering test, there are various algorithms you can specify for identifying neighbours, and one of the algorithms is 'distance'. You could use that, setting the maximum distance to 4cm, and then for each electrode you should end up with a list of other electrodes that are within 4cm of it. I imagine EEGLAB has similar capability, I'm just not sure exactly where. (And in any case, an EEGLAB structure can be read into a Fieldtrip structure pretty easily).
Thanks. I've not had much luck with fieldtrip so far, but found a way to do it using some files extracted from another tool box.
