Dear All,
I'm interested in calculating the electrical potentials in the ground and below the soil surface under a DC fault current, knowing that my ground is non uniform and has got several layers with different heights and resistivity's.
My investigations so far lead me to Bessel's equations and functions. Is there any other way to achieve such calculations ?

I have only a small note on terminology: it is about the diffusion, rather than on "the propagation".

You may have to use Bessel functions if there is cylindrical symmetry.
