Though there is hype about biotech students are afraid of pursuing biotechnology because of poor employment. The very life sciences is needed for all streams. However, in India there is step mother treatment for life sciences which is mother of all sce sciences. How to increase the interest in students who calculate in terms of pay packets and employment opportunities in any area.

I am agree with your point that in India is Step Mother Treatment for Life Science. And i can say its because of only and only because of the people who are on top position.
First of all opportunity of employment in the field are much less then college, which provide education.
Second, no proper education provided during the studies. It must have to be improved.
Third, We have many known CSIR & DBT institutes and Research centre in India, but lots of partiality for employments, until you have a strong reference, its much difficult to get job. Person who is qualified and ability of doing good work, did not get the opportunity because of references.
For JRF and SRF, gov provides good salary, but in a company, for Master of Science People, salary start from 5K to 7K. Is these enough for Masters? If people did not getting salary, why they choose the field.
Until you have a Ph. D., you are treated like helper only. And in our Indian Education System getting Ph. D. is not so easy. Again partiality matters a lot for getting Guide.
Lots of Grant Provided by DBT, CSIR many other, But till date we are depends on other for major life science technology. I can say Our Indian Research Centre not even able to develop one single Clone which are world best, after using lost of Grants form Government. Its totally waste of money.
People are on top, used grant to developed their Lab Facility only, and that's it. They are not allowed student or research personal for training or guidance. They are not allowed other people, who don't have a facility to work.
only boosting of Biotech education is not only the solution for the same. So many things must have to change.
Government of India providing lots of money for biotechnology field, but we are just wasting those money by doing some small small research. Our Indian Pharma companies paid high amount to foreign institute for Patents. They did not trust on Indian Research because we are not doing it properly.

Honestly, I dont agree with your opinion that life science has been treated like step mother. So far job opportunities in biotechnology is concerned, hell lot of doors are opened but students needs to explore them through tools like web browsing.
Good we have difference of opinion. But we have to agree the fct that biotechnology career has to be made as lucrative.
