We have a waterproof cable that is carrying pulsating currents (in the range of 100-200A, 100ns duration). When we monitor the pulsed current passing through the cable using oscilloscope, when the cable is in air, the current signal is very good with less noise and oscillations/sinusoids. When the cable is touching water/placed inside water (some part of the cable portion inside water), we observe too many oscillations/damping sinusoids in the current pulse (please see below attached screenshot).

The cable used is a twisted pair cable.

How to avoid these kind of oscillations/ sinusoids?
