Our faculty has just launced peer-reviewed journal (Review of Business and Economics Studies, http://robes.fa.ru/, available in printed form and in open access). We had positive feedback on it from Elsevier et al., have plans to be indexed by Scopus, etc. The problem of every new journal is the same: how to attract good papers? We already used personal contacts, "hard" copies of journal sent with welcome letters, emails to international colleagues, linkedin; publishing with us is free, and we were met with enthusiasm, and often with complaints how hard is to publish in more "established" journal, and what a brilliant opportunity is our journal. But the real output (measured in papers) is in fact quite low. How to access all that struggling young (and perhaps not so young) authors, without significantly taking quality tradeoff to the negative side?
