I want to analyze cluster size of water in polymer. in an article, there were a figure(mentioned here). But, I can not understand the figure. There is number of molecules VS cluster size in the figure. I could not understand cluster size concept. Is it area? or number of molecules?

I've done some work about polymers, in which also met the concept 'cluster size'. I don't know if it's the same with what you talk about, but I'd like to share how I did this. First you need to seperate the molecules into different 'cluseters', by connections(Delaunay triangulation) or distance(set a cut-off) or something else. Then you need to choose a parameter to calculate to decide the 'size' of each cluster. In my work, the chosen parameter is Rg. By the way, it's easy to understand that the same number of molecules can result in different sizes, right?
