How would I prepare a suspension of live microorganisms . I have a pill containing 15 billion bifido+lacto. How do I convert it to 2 times 10 power 5 or 4. I am looking at the references, and all the probiotic suspension are given as so.
Can I give the probiotic as 15 billion? (intraperitoneal or oral feeding) ?

If i understand your question well, you are looking for dissolution equation.
So you can dissolve your pill in 7.5mL of PBS solution (for example).
You'll have a solution containing 2 109 bact/mL.
So if you want to administrate 2.105 or 2.104 bacteria you should give 1.10-4 mL or 1.10-5mL of this suspension.
As you can not measure precisely this volume, you should do successive solution, i.e. put 1mL of your initial solution in 9mL (1mL+9mL=10mL) until you get the right concentration.
1st dilution -> 2 108 bact/mL
... ...
4th dilution -> 2 105 bact/mL (you can give 1mL of this bacterial)
5th dilution -> 2 104 bact/mL (you can give 1mL of this bacterial)
Be sure they are alive because you are speaking of probiotics and rehydration is known to induce cell death.
Finally, concerning the possibility to give 15 billion of bacteria (in one time I presume). It depends of your model. For mouse it would be impossible, much bigger model it would be feasible.
However, you should ask the question of the relevance of this trial. I you give this amount to mouse (weight about 20g), it correspond to give like 45 000 billion of bacteria to a human...

Kindly consider the fact that your pill contains mixture of aerobe and anaerobe. You will have to consider this while making a suspension i.e. live suspension
