The Al alloy cast by the RSF process comprises non-dendritic morphology which helps in improving the mechanical properties of the alloy. In order to further improve the mechanical properties of the A356 alloy the artificial aging at 170oC for 20 hours was carried out. The comparative study of non-heat treated and heat treated A356 alloy was also studied . During, study the precipitation hardening and globalization of eutectic Si in heat treated samples were observed. In addition to this grain refinement of primary, alpha-Al phase was also observed. I tried to search on the literature regarding the grain refinement of Al alloy due to artificial aging but not able to find, suitable answer .
