The National Education Policy 2020 indicates about the need for better teaching and learning methods, teacher training with many meaningful exams. But it does not provide details regarding the funds collection of private institutions.
In the fist place any private higher education is there to fill ais to be of use to th the national agenda. Otherwise, it's existence has to be questioned unless it is responding to global issues. In whatever way: such institutions must prepare themselves for consultancy work as an institution with a comparative advantage in specific disciplines and also be champions of specialized training of particular disciplines which are on demand world wide and particularly within the country. This is over and above charging acceptable student fees on full time courses where applicable.
It is important to take up the question in relation to non-governmental organizations, which are private organizations, but which have an impact on educational processes in many countries. The funds for these organizations can contribute to the strengthening of counseling and educational support; in addition to the development of important educational experiences
Private institutions are seen as rude organizations who charge lots of fees. So it is difficult to ask for funds, however there are following ways by which they can raise funds.
1) By making committee/NGO in relation to good social work, for example: distributing books to poor people, educating illiterate people, spreading awareness about Cleanliness etc. Now upload the pics of that welfare on social media. When public finds it good work, then they will be willing to donate funds
2) Can make a product which is helpful for others , for example: free education website, free e books. And ask for funds through that.
In both the above cases, we will show them that our private institution is running this NGO or making this product.
The moment people will have good thaughts regarding our private institution, they will be willing to give funds with happiness.
The emphasis of the National Education Policy is to provide access to quality education for economic prosperity. The private institutions can raise funds by:
i. Seeking for Government intervention funds on education ii. engaging in consultancy services
iii. Collaboration with the private sector
iv. Seeking for research grants/support from a private organization, NGO
We must note that private institutions are not charity organizations. Quality education requiressupported adequate funding. The private institutions must be supported. How, they must also embrace the principle of openness, transparency, supported requires and accountability.
Olufemi Ogundoro Sorry Sir, I back to differ. The institutions consider education as a profit making business. They give emphasis on profit making in this process larger section of people are depriving in getting right education.
It is the business of the subsidized government to provide free or subsidised education. The private investors are into the investment not to lose but to make profits. Quality education require adequate funding. Lack of adequate funding may lead to the collapse of the private institutions. It is possible to control what they charge as school fees but they must be permitted to raise funds and charge sustainable fees so that they pay their staff and maintain the teaching facilities appropriately and get rewarded for their investments. They have invested all their belonging so they must be rewarded. The private institution are job creation agents. They provide job for alot of unemployed youth and provide them with means of livelihood.
Olufemi Ogundoro The privatization of education creates discrimination among the beneficiaries. As a result certain sections of beneficiaries fail to achieve. In a nation only one system of education should prevalent.
