Some decisions have multiple barriers and factors to consider, yet the decisions seem to be easier considered from the side, which leads to advice. Does the presence of outside information help or hinder the decision-mkaing?
Depending on the validity of the information from outside. YES if the information is valid and evidence based or NO if merely opinions without evidence based information.
I know from my personal experience that the opinions of others matter in my research and decision making. I will actively seek out the opinions of others in the appropriate field(s) I am researching when I see a potential issue or solution. But then I must also evaluate the responses I get as to whether they are based on factual determinations or on dogmatic grounds. Opinions based on factual grounds are very worthwhile in assisting my making a decision while responses based on a dogmatic position are meaningless.
My current research is yielding far more dogmatic responses that it cannot be right than the few that bother to look at the facts and proclaim that I am suggesting an interesting new way to consider the historic evidence in light of new discoveries.

, Daniel Chukwuchebe Nneji. The Bible encourages us to seek advice from wise and godly individuals: 🔹 "The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice." — Proverbs 12:15 🔹 "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed." — Proverbs 15:22
This means that listening to the right people—those with wisdom, experience, and faith—can help us make better choices.
Avoiding Negative Influence
While counsel is valuable, the Bible warns against following the wrong voices: 🔹 "Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’" — 1 Corinthians 15:33 🔹 "Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take." — Psalm 1:1
This reminds us to be careful not to let peer pressure or ungodly advice lead us astray.
Trusting in God Above All
Ultimately, while human advice can be helpful, our final trust should be in God’s wisdom: 🔹 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5-6
So, while we should consider the opinions of others, we must weigh them against God’s Word and seek His guidance in prayer.
