Good afternoon, I have performed a load flow on Simscape tutorial model power_3phseriescomp.
I note that after LF source voltage angle is slightly negative – see attachment.
My understanding is that source voltage should be greater than swing bus voltage i.e:
source voltage = source internal voltage drop + swing bus voltage, acc to K2L.
Any possible explanation will be appreciated indeed! Juan Cabeza

Load flow result is correct , and the negative angle voltage is not a problem. Active power flow in AC system is strictly related to the voltage angle infact active power flow goes from leading angle to lagging angle.

Three-phase source has to compensate internal load flow in source. On bus B3 you have zero degree. It seems correct.
Thanks to both, would you pls let me comment:
- In the example, active power flows from source to bus B3, thus I believe source angle should be leading. That is, since B3 angle is zero then source angle should be above zero and not negative according to Alessandro Rosini
- The way I see it, maybe source angle is slightly negative because there is reactive power flowing to the source in order to compensate the inductive losses in the source as Igor Ivankovic indicates.
