Student feedback is the much needed factor in any educational endeavors. It is good to have the feedback about lecturers pre-readiness, conducting the sessions and after the delivery whether the students have earned the expected ILOs. Further, Evaluation also needs the feedback.
A feedback is very important, not only of students, but the basic teaching and the non-teaching staff as well. It helps in maintaining a balance of how the institute functions and also develops a friendly yet a meticulous milieu.
I think feedback does not always have room in educational institutions. Strengthening spaces such as libraries in which students have the right to freedom in the academic field to express opinions and express themselves is of the utmost importance.
GOOD & BAD. It is good to have feedback if the feedback is constructive and leads
to quality improvement. It is bad if the feedback process becomes a tool to vent
emotions and frustrations by students. Teachers should also learn to differentiate what is private and what is professional.
Teacher and students should understand the feedback process. This could be done at first day orientation so that everyone in the process understands the purpose and function of the feedback. Teachers should understand the practical utility of what is being taught. Students should understand the expected standard of the institution.
