Is it possible for people who can't understand the Italian language to learn using signs? To what extent could this be helpful? Considering the factor its linked with Multiwordnet which is quite comprehensive and well managed.

I can imagine that it helps people with a tendency for visual representations (like me) to connect signs and words when learning a new language. It would probably be helpful to have a look at cog science and didactic literature to find some hints and to get ideas about experiment designs in this field.
What do you think the words from the language know by the subject or the Italian language and sign language. I know that the signs are different for the same concept or word in different countries, Even in Italy the signs vary with respect to the area and culture. Like for the word "Casa" means home there more than two signs i.c Home in Turin then in Genoa sign is different from home sign in Turin and in South of Italy.

I see this is an old thread, that I just stumbled across. When you say someone cannot learn Italian, what prevents them from doing so? In the U.S. American Sign Language is utilized with a number of people who have disabilities that may prevent them from expressing themselves fully in spoken English, but receptively can understand spoken language.
For example, Sign language (usually ASL signs used in a more English word order) is taught and utilized with people who have Down's Syndrome, some forms of Autism, Apraxia, Auditory Processing disorder, etc. ASL is not utilized to help them learn spoken English, but to enable them express themselves when they are verbally unable to use English.
As Suzanne said, people who need some sort of augmentative or alternative means to communicate learn sign language (in addition to those she mentioned..people who have had a stroke can learn -primarily a one-handed version of sign language if one hand is paralyzed). Anecdotally, immigrants to a country who haven't mastered the oral language have reported understanding more of that oral language when they were watching an interpreter sign the content. They are probably benefitting from the transparent signs and translucent signs. Sign languages vary in terms of whether an individual sign is transparent (you can instantly guess what the sign means correctly), translucent ( when someone tells you what the sign means, it seems logical to you) and opaque (even when someone explains what the sign means, it seems very abstract to you - you would never have guessed it).
