I want to evaluate the efficiency of applying variable massage signs in introducing the dynamic lane grouping before reaching the downstream intersection. Hence, I want to create a simple video represent a variable massage sign before an intersection which provide the driver with an information about the current lane group at the intersection and then ask some people to see the video and ask them about there reactions if they will follow the information provided by the variable massage sign or not.
You might want to show the materials to a few, or more, people and then either incorporate their comments or save them for a final video.
Prefer to set up the camera in-side the vehicle to mimic the drivers' actual view. Covering multiple periods (i.e., peak vs. non-peak periods; good weather vs. severe weather;) might be interesting. Don's reveal that you are testing participants' reactions to the VMS; just ask them watch the videos and self-report their lane choice.
