If we do the core calculation on a homogenised fuel assembly, we can utilise a separate method to compute the assembly neutron flux and power distribution. How accurate would it be if we normalised each assembly power distribution in a global core computation if we got it from infinite lattice calculation in a separate computation?
In deterministic full-core calculations, the fuel assembly is homogenized. In order to get detailed information at the pin level (for example to get the maximum pin power), the form factor from lattice calculation (i.e., the ratio between the pin power to the average assembly power) is superimposed to the intranodal flux solution. There are many papers out there on this subject. The accuracies of the methodologies are typically discussed in these papers as well. Good luck.
