I can imagine this would depend on the ATR crystal used and the metal deposited. My main question is I cant find any research article (or if there is a book chapter about it even better) on this topic. I would be really appreciated if you can suggest me articles or book chapters regarding this. Else if you specfically know how to make good adhesion between metals ( Ag or Cu) and crystals ( Si or Ge). The combinations of thesemetals and crystals would be really helpful.

You can yous SEM to check the quality of the adhesion between ATR crystals and the metal films by making a cross section of your deposited sample and check the obtained SEM cross section photo.
