Recently, I received the reviewer's comments but I can see that they emphasized on describe "lessons learned" which is not clear concept for me. Then, how must I understand" lesson learned"?
Usually, when reviewers speak of "lesson learned" they are talking about the bigger, broader conclusions that result from a study. For example, suppose I am interested in the effects of drug X on verbal learning. I get a group of participants and test them once on the drug (mean score = 12 words recalled) and once off the drug (mean score = 20 words recalled). Let's assume my design is appropriately counterbalanced, I know the mechanism of action of the drug, etc., and that my primary statistical analysis is a t-test which reveals significant group difference (p
As Catherine said, the "lessons learned" can be contributions to general knowledge. Personally, I tend to use the term to mean "how can we make use of the findings?"
For example, what do the findings of a study about teaching tell us about how we teach well and create effective lessons and assignments?
