I want to prepare my silver nano particles for the imaging by SEM for the first time. I have no Idea how much sample is enough for the analysis I have very limited amount of sample and I have an appointment for SEM analysis far from my state. so anyone there who can help me so that I prepare more sample before appointment.
Actually a few tens of ng as shown by calculating the mass of, say 1000, 50 nm particles. Representative sampling will be important.
Remember to estimate the mean to 1% standard error you'll need to 'count' 10000 particles...

If your SEM device is efficient, then you need just an amount of scratch (micro or nano gram).
for preparation (synthesis) ~mg and SEM from mg to micro-gram is enough (it depends SEM device) .
