Ranjeet Desai,

The limit should be the 0.75 and above. Generally, as per ICH & other regulated guidelines has given acceptance criteria i.e. 0.99 or 1 R Square. The reason of low R-Square for preparative chromatography is for fractions collected of individual material and further purification steps. Once individual compound purifies the the stringent criteria shall be applicable as mentioned in guidelines.
