I had read few research papers on PAHs. Most of these papers report recovery levels for PAHs, an important QA/QC parameter, and report the concentrations for these compounds obtained as such for the samples. Recently, I came across a paper where they calculated a recovery factor from obtained recoveries and normalized the original data as per the recovery factor.
I would like to know what is the ideal and right way to report the data on PAHs for any sample: should I normalize the original concentrations obtained for a sample with recovery factor or the original data must be reported as such and must be seen in line with the recoveries obtained.
I would be thankful for the answers about the same. Also, I request that the answers provided are supported by some authentic sources, established guidelines and regulations. Please provide a link or article file.

I am sorry i can not provide guidelines or regulations. But i think it depends on your
recovery rate of PAHs , "80%～120%" or "＞120%"＞ or "﹤80%".
You don't really need to normalise data these days due to excellent non-parametric tests. There is even a non-parametric ANOVA i.e. PERMANOVA. And it's better to be honest with data and present original findings imo
