Recently, I have been studying the paper "Estimating the basic reproductive ratio for the Ebola outbreak in Liberia and Sierra Leone", published in Infectious Diseases of Poverty. I came across the figure 4 (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4347917/figure/Fig4/) and figure 5 (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4347917/figure/Fig5/). In the legends of these figures, they have used the words "effectivity of high risk individuals compared to low risk" and "Effectiveness of isolation". I am not getting this word effectiveness, in terms of their model. What does effectiveness mean.
