But if you need to cite this information, the Brazil Flora Group has published a formal paper summarizing the data in the above mentioned database and they say that Brazil has 1343 Bromeliaceae (see Zappi et al 2015 Rodriguésia: http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/2175-7860201566411 ).
