I need a reference / article saying something about how long period of time you need in total to perform an LLE procedure from plasma. Of course, I know a lot about LLE itself, but I need documentation on the time consumption for a fair comparison with some of our sample prep techniques. Does anybody know?
Astrid, I did a simple search on Google with the phrase "time required for liquid-liquid extraction for drugs in plasma" and a number of examples turned up, even some that compared LLE with other standard techniques like SPE and SLE. In general terms, most modern LLE extractions are relatively fast since people aren't necessarily working with a liter of sample anymore. If you include the evaporation time to blow down the organic phase after extraction, then the time required could be quite long.
