I would like to design an experiment where primary hepatocytes from mice have to maintained in culture for about a week. However, I don not know how long the primary hepatocyte can survive in vitro. Would any researcher please tell me the answer. Thanks.

I agree with Dhananjay Kumar. The main problem with culture of these cells is that the cells rapidly lose their cuboidal morphology and liver specific functions during standard culture. The cells accumulate actin stress fibers, described as becoming “fibroblast-like,” and die within a few days.
