Hello every one.
I submitted a manuscript to an ISI idexed journal in the field of signal & image processing (where I found in their web site that the average time from submission to the first decision is 83 days) since august 10, 2016. Then, on August 22, an update is made to my manuscript indicating that is in revision process. Since there, I doesn't receive any update from the journal.
In other hand, the editor doesn't reply to any of my correspondences, and when I contacted the editorial office (4 times: Nov, Jan & Feb), the JEO assistant cofirmed that my manuscript is under consideration and he will ask the editor to expedite the process, but without getting any news or updates. So, is it normal and logical this great delay (nearly 200 days instead of 83 days) in processing may manuscript without getting the first decision.
Then, what shall I do now?

It may happen quite often if it is a SCI indexed journal. But generally, this type of journal take maximum 3-4 months to give first review. But some journals like IJEEI, IAJIT will take lot of time. It also depends on the size of your paper.
You must contact with the editor's frequently and request him to speed up the process pf review. By the way, what is the name of your journal???

For some reasons, I cannot tell you now the name of the journal (I think that is of not necessity) but I can only to say that it belongs to the Springer series. Hope that my question become now more explicite.

Due to the availability of reviews may also create issue.
In some journal simple they the took 4 months for initial reviews.
If feel it take too much of time , directly write a mail to the editor for the status of the paper .
