Basically, I usually harvest adipose tissue and do a whole mount staining to image right away (fluosrescence). I want to store pieces of fixed tissues to have the possibility of doing another staining later.
Can I do that at +4°C ?
How long and in which buffer would you store the tissue ?
Do you have native fluorescence in the tissue you want to keep? If not, fixed tissue can stay in this conditions in PBS easily for couple of weeks. For longer storage you need to add antimicrobial agent (like sodium azide).

PBS would be a good choice. But the tissue cant stay in PBS for more than 10 days approx. Try to use it ASAP.
Ok, maybe FACS buffer is a better idea ?
FACS buffer : PBS 5% serum 0,1 % azide
