In case of distribution system the integration of distributed resources is usually done by taking opposite sign than that of load demand at bulk delivery load point/bus. However, quality of the result depends upon the methodology used for load flow solution. In distribution system conventional iterative methods are not much suitable so various KVL/KCL based forward/backward sweep methods can be used.
In the power flow problem, if the renewable source is a wind power source, it can be modeled as conventional generating unit by specifying the reactive power generation limits (as DFIG connected to PV bus), while if the renewable source is a PV solar source, it can be modeled as a conventional generating unit (with active power generation) without reactive power generation.
