How is protein expression in insect cells altered when virus is loaded in excess amounts?

I expressed a membrane protein complex in insect cells using MultiBac expression system. The goal was to optimize the expression to mainly get the subunits in a 1:1:1 stoichiometric ratio. When western blots were observed, the gradual increase in subunits expression correlating to virus ratios could not be seen. Any possible explanations?
