Indonesia has many offshore gas well platform with CO2 content more than 70% molar volume, two of them are located in Natuna Islands, in-between Riau Province and Kalimantan Island, and in Masela region, Eastern Indonesia. With this situation, but the fact that most of the offshore gas well platform as mentioned, located quite far from Indonesian main land, i.e Java, Sumatera, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi, makes it take hundreds kilometer of gas pipeline, to distribute the gas to major gas consumers in those Indonesian main land. Hence, it is important to make sure that the offshore gas well platform shall do separating gas with its CO2 content, along with maximum utilization of separated CO2 gas. After that, rather than to injecting CO2 to facility Carbon Capture Storage (CCS), it is more valuable to utilize CO2 for raw material of the built & installed & operated ammonia urea plant, and Soda ash plant. It is clearly seen that all those new plants and gas processing CO2 separation facility shall need very big consumption of electrical power consumption, to drive all the plants as mentioned, as well as related utility plant (seawater reverse osmosis plant ---> producing clean water/demin water, water electrolysis plant ---> producing H2 & O2, and air separation plant ---> producing O2 & N2). I think the most appropriate eletrical power source, to cater those needs, are floating nuclear power plant, and supported by renewable energy power plant of wind turbine & electrovoltaic power plant (= solar cell power plant).
Those explanation mentioned above, needs integrated concept of floating nuclear power plant, offshore gas platform surface facility plant, Carbon capture utililzation plant, and other utility plant as mentioned, to implement and materialize the needs to explore and exploit very big resource of gas well with plenty CO2 content, in Natuna Islands region and in Masela region, Indonesia.
We need reliable research and reference for those integrated concepts, to implement and materialize into a real project, for the sake of Indonesian welfare and development.
