I know that the main principal of Steady-state is to keep a number of individuals for the next generation. Thereunto, is needed select a number of parents, apply the crossover to generate the offsprings, and replace just some individuals of the population. My doubt is about which technique is used to select the parents who will reproduce in the standard Steady-state? Is it randomly?
